In 2015 the United Nations has launched the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development - that combines 17 Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs.
The 2030 Agenda is an ambitious, long term plan that aims to achieve a just, rights-based, equitable, democratic and inclusive world and addresses a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
Georgia, as an UN member country, took ownership to establish national framework for the achievement of 17 Goals.
The State Audit Office of Georgia, considering its constitutional mandate and role, has an opportunity to substantially contribute to the implementation, monitoring and reporting of SDGs by its audit work.
